Anecdotes, the primary elements of the art of humor, are the oldest samples of literary texts. In the case of Turkey, anecdotes are mostly associated with certain persons, regions and communities and acquire a special effect as reminders of their funny features. These primary elements, being expressed in spaces of entertainment and establishing links between the languages of the region (Kurdish-Turkish), feature “oil” as their main theme, which is the most valuable raw material in the world, thereby pointing to the transitions between the global character of entertainment and the local identity.
