Bumpy Road is about the marginalization of the power of the army in Turkey. Over the past decades the Turkish army saw their role fit to act like the watchman over politics in Turkey, resulting in numerous coupes over the last forty years. Today the army is more and more losing its power to radically subvert politics due to a gaining majority of conservative votes in government. Bit by bit the government is taking control of change altogether by subordinating the army under its rule.
